Okay seems like its still not getting through so I'll paraphrase. It's a valid complaint but let's get our house in order first. That's all. No use in me complaining about someone abusing my mother when I abuse her myself.

Also, Somali kids literally fear for their lives and their safety if they openly profess their apostasy to their families. So its kind of a much bigger deal than some cyber bullying (which again, is still awful)

They definitely can. Well I guess the first step is acknowledgement.

Anyway, I have younger siblings and knowing they're seeing this anti-Somali sentiment online does hurt 100%. Luckily I didn't grow up seeing or even hearing this level of hate and ridicule.

With all due respect, I think you're being a bit silly and naive, walaal. If you don't practice Islam then that's entirely your business and no one genuinely cares except maybe any relations you live with.

What ruffles people's feathers and I feel you're wasting your time with is trying to get people to be accepting of atheistic beliefs and thinking. It's a very religious society, for better or worse, so your recourse as someone who wants to remain within the culture is to either be that quiet adeer who doesn't go to the masjid, drinks khamr and no one really bothers because if he is an atheist he keeps it to himself, or be vocal and in people's faces about your disbelief where, I'm sorry, you're going to get some ugly reactions indeed.

I genuinely don't care what some mentally ill weirdos say on the internet. I've never encountered any of this mentally ill foolery to my face and would probably ignore the weirdo if I did. That being said, don't be disingenuous. No one is launching some online daily smear campaign against "Ex-Muslims" in the Somali community. Most just get attacked when they come into Somali spaces and make a ruckus or try to get accepted. Otherwise, not even Ayaan Hirsi Ali comes up here 99% of the time. Nobody cares what you believe, saaxiib.
