@Thegoodshepherd it hit hard when this speech still applies today. When he said we shouldnt allow one son of Darood to be used as as a leeway to break Darood unity and cause infighting. He was referring to Jess and co who were allied with Caydiid.

Today unfortunately some sections of the Dhulbahante and Marehan are the ones breaking the Darood unity. The former allying with Idoor against MJ and marehan allying with failed mooryaan.

@TekNiKo I would not say that Marehan and Dhulbahante are in the same situation. Marehan remain united as a clan and are still capable of deciding their fate. Marehan are the reason why the southern Darod have not lost any territory despite having had the bloodiest fighting in the civil war take place in their territory. I would rather have a strong cousin who is opposed to me, than a weak cousin who favors me.

The Dhulbahante are facing oblivion as a coherent subclan, their fate is in the hands of their worst enemy. Thank god that Marehan has remained united.

You are right walaal we are still fairly united but certain folks still believe in Xamar and MSB days, they are nostalgic for a city that shall never regain her former glory. It is called "Marehan Guilt" for just as the white man feels excessively responsible for the affairs of the black man so too does the Marehan for hawiye. I wish they would simply withdraw and focus on their own regions which lack development instead of focusing on the jungle known as Xamar.
