Isn’t it time for women to humble themselves in their demands toward potential husbands?

I mean, modesty and moderation is a virtue in Islam, and still they have the audacity to claim 50+k in mehr back, offering nothing or very little in return.

Women really need to step off their high horses, come to terms with the fact that the perfect tall, rich, handsome man is a delusion.

It is time you come back to reality and settle with average but God fearing men or one room flats with cats in suburbia awaits you.

Being reasonable is important. Or just finding someone willing to give you what you want. In my tribe the groom brings the bride & family gold and money etc. The 50 K thing would workout more he’ll pay for trips or for home which makes sense.

Dunya is fleeing, sister, its an illusion broken in a split second. Like the dagger on the grass in the morning. What is left behind us are our good deeds and what we leave our children spiritually, Deenwise.

Materialism is a poison and pursue of materialstic urges are of the devil. In the end we take nothing with us and are all buried three feet under, poor or rich.

Therefore, abide by the scriptures and ask for a small meher, as it is the best one.

I think women can demand for as much meher or as little as they want, given that THAT is their right. Besides, women give back a lot to the marriage and meher shouldn’t really be a dispute between the two people since it is her haq in Islam. If you can’t afford her meher amount, then kindly ask for it to be lowered.
