When do you see young Somali kids doing 350 pound squats, explosive plyometrics, heavy hang cleans, heavy sled work or even resistance training? They look at shit like that and say, “that’s some try hard madow nigga shit”.
Training for hypertrophy is not the same at training for strength and speed.

When I was a teenager I had a cousin that played American football for a few years in high school as a safety. Two years of football made him explosive AF.
Whenever I hooped with him I use to literally watch him dunk with ease at like 5'10.
My cousin and that one Somali 100m sprinter in Europe are the only two somalis I know of that have actually trained to become more athletic and explosive.
This guy runs a 10.38 100m and a 20.63 200m. He legit won a national championship in the Netherlands while competing in the 200m.
Somali athletes have a lot of potential. We just need more niggas to hit the gym and to start training the right way.
