Reer Merican, what's it like living in the Hood in America?

I grew up in a suburban area in Canada. I was only one of two Somali families in my neighborhood. Most of the Somalis in my cities lived in the 'hood' but they weren't that dangerous though, compared to their American counterparts.

For the Somalis on here that grew up in the hoods of Columbus, Seattle. Minneapolis, etc what is it like over there? It seems super dangerous.

I remember when we first came to America we moved to the hood in Atlanta Georgia before somalis made the exodus to the north for better jobs, schools, and welfare but it was horrible the school's were underfunded something like only 30% of high schoolers graduated someone was always getting shot from our window we always say the madow always fighting there were no stores around unless you got out of the hood meaning it was a food desert no grocery stores only convenient stores that sold junk food so a lot of them were fat.

I know families who lived in the hood. Their children, especially the boys, turned to be a disaster. Stay away from the hood at any cost.
