I think the shiekh might be mistaken, we all make mistakes but I believe he should embrace our community members who are infected with the virus. Now days, with awareness, people can prevent themselves from getting it by using proper protection and techniques. Also by taking medication will allow them to live a normal decent life like us. In fact modern medicine is increasingly progressing where some people have already been cured, in the next decade or so, this disease might be thing of the past. Please don't treat people bad just because u are fortunate enough not be fully healthy.

I have met a lot of Somalis. Trust me, it's not about qabil but temperament. I have lived around Galbeed, Reer Djbouti and Northern Somalis mostly. They are highly variable. You will find the full spectrum of life paths (liberals, moderates and conservatives alike). As for Harti, Issaq and Hawiye, it's not fair to make sweeping statements. When we typify people according to qabil constructs/prejudices we rob these individuals of their uniqueness and ignore their character.
Where I live a lot of Northerners (Galbeed to Bari) come from two-parent households. And for those that don't they do well when they have other positive influences to fill the void - a strong religious/spiritual foundation, involved mothers, school programs, concerned siblings and positive male role models.
