Redrawing the World Map: A Somali perspective🌍

The West has divided the Old World into three continents: Europe, Asia, and Africa. This tripartite division was never neutral; it was based on European-centered perceptions that do not reflect true geographic or cultural realities. But why must we continue to adopt this imposed framework?
We Somalis, with our rich history and maritime legacy, have every right to present our own perspective on the world—a perspective rooted in our civilizational centrality and worldview.
From this standpoint, Europe, Asia, and Africa are not separate continents, but rather adjacent regions within a single landmass. A "continent" will be defined as a large, continuous expanse of land surrounded by oceans—and this definition does not apply to this politically fragmented yet naturally connected triad.
The time has come to rethink global geography through a Somali lens—one that restores recognition of our position as a center, not a margin.

Note: The names of the regions are not final. If you have better suggestions, please feel free to share them.
