Redditors claiming Northern and Southern Somalis look different?

Came across this thread on reddit recently.

I personally don't see Northern Somalis and Southern Somalis look any different from one another and both look the same yet you have people peddling backwards and primitive talking points about Northern phenotypes looking more Arab/Habesha adjacent while Southern looks more Nilotic/Bantu and that has never been more of a lie to me personally since I've never encountered nor seen that?

What is this despicable lie about Southern Somalia being invested with Bantus and its just one big Bantu Mut-land when that couldn't be further from the truth.

What is Somalispot's thoughts on this because it seems I'm losing my mind here, don't know what to believe anymore.

right like on one hand they mention they mention there are no "bantu" takeovers in the south then casually in the same breath talk about Southern Somalis on average looking more "african" than the north.

When I go to Friday prayer I would not able to tell where any Somali is from unless they have Bantu or Arab admixture (cad cad, Barawani et al). I play football with a group of Somali guys from all parts of Somalia and the only ones that stand out are basically barawanis.

Not going to read their arguments as I like an intact brain, but our generation always claims to be the ones to correct the mistakes of the past. Describing the south (what I understand to mean DiM, Madoweyne, Hwy, and all the small .5s) as 'Nilotic and Bantu' are words that I don't even think the butchers said during the 90s.

I do not blame him tho, the Oromos are a genuinely mixed people. He probably assumed the same is true for Somalis.
