Fierce between clan militiamen has erupted on Monday at west of Beledweyne city in Somalia's central Hiiraan region, reports said. The tribal warfare ensued after a clan militia attacked another militia loyal to the self-appointed Westland state at a checkpoint in Beledweyne's Howlwadag village, causing business to standstill.
The exact figures of the casualties remained unclear as the fighting is still going on in the area, with some reports that both sides have suffered heavy losses. Radio Shabelle will keep you updated for any information as they come.
