They don't care at all. All they care about is the money. If you have an allergic reaction, they'll just say not to get the red at all. But what happens to those who usually got it, but suddenly had a reaction? or those who didn't know they were allergic? they know its dangerous and still use itThey won’t stop as long as someone somewhere is willing to pay them. No care about causing people harm. Same reason why they still sell skin bleaching creams.
I got an allergic reaction after getting it for my graduation. The women who did it was a family friend too in cosm school. When I told her what happened so she would switch it, she essentially said it was a me problem. That no one else had that issue.
She would alway get her fingers colored every Friday and a circle on her palmmy grandmother is the same

"What I learned is that ancient Mauretania was every bit as exotic and sensual as Egypt, and that the women who lived there had a rich and colorful spirituality that expressed itself in their arts. We’ve all heard of Berber carpets. Perhaps we even own a piece of Berber jewelry. But the art of henna is largely associated with Indian culture now, even though of Berber origin."

Got the black henna done, it was all fine. I was feeling like an old habar, so i decided to add the red henna too.f*ck, that's where i made the mistake
As i was taking the dried henna off, I started to feel numbness/ tenderness in the areas of the red henna. I felt weird sensations on my hand/arms. I couldn't tell what was going on, so i held my arm to the light and took a look at it from the side. lo and behold, I had a bad case of poka dots swelling.

Suddenly pain started to creep in. I went to my mother and told her. She looked at me like i was an idiotand said "Naa maxaa igasodonaysa.
Waa suun. carar iskadaq cacanta." I washed and scrubbed over and over and over again

As i was drying my hands, this insane burning sensation took over.Alhamdullah after several hours, the swelling has partially gone down. the burning sensation, pain, and tightness is still there tho.
I swear to god, these henna ladies need to stop adding daawo to the red henna. That shit doesn't belong on human skin.
My festive feelings were zappeddon't know how i'm gonna go to work

I am sorry about what had happen to you. Black and the red henna that are done at the somali malls are both full chemicals. The natural powder henna is fine though. I put the black henna and red on my wedding, I had a bad reaction and that was the last day I ever used it. Also avoid the ready to use henna that are in small cones those are even worse the hennas that are done in somali malls. I used that for Eid couple years ago and my arms started to hurt and I got sick from it. Since the name of was one the cone i googled it and i found out that it had a lot of dangerous chemicals and it said it can cause cancer. Pretty scary stuff wallahi. Now i just use natural henna powder (I just add one lime or lemon and water boiled with tea leaves) and it turns out really nice every time.I was really feeling festive that I went to go get henna after eid.![]()
