This is a laangab view sorry. We have plenty of land and resources we really need millions more people. 100 million in Somalia would be a great start.

More people is a blessing.

A bigger market, geopolitical strength, more geniuses and potential for great innovations, etc.

If Somalia is to survive we absolutely need millions more people.

India's a terrible example their population will actually decrease quite quickly in the near future nor are we remotely comparable.

Unstable population growth is just as destructive as an unstable population decline. We need to focus on stabilizing the country first before worrying about population growth. And the people advocating for reckless breeding are slow in the head. You have to be seriously retarded to think bringing a child into the world with no future is a good idea.

India & China have a high population ,because they have an abundance of food & water .

Somalia can easily double their Population without any troubles as long as there's food & water security.

We do not need very high population numbers to counter Ethiopia and Kenya, an educated population and a technologically advanced military is sufficient. In modern warfare, technology is everything. Numbers do not matter at all. Just look at Israel vs the Arabs, the Arabs have a much higher population but Israel has better technology, so they usually win.

That said, we still need a healthy level of population growth in order to have good economic development. At this stage of our development, we cannot afford to have our population stagnate or decrease. Somalia’s current growth rates are good. As @mohammdov stated, the fertility rates will decline eventually. Once we reach 3 children per woman (which is the “sweet spot” when it comes to fertility rates), we need to figure out a way to stop our fertility rate from decreasing. This is because if it decreases further, than we will have a situation just like the West where we need immigration to continue to have sustainable economic growth. Or worse, we may end up becoming like South Korea which is currently speeding towards a demographic disaster…
