The only really interesting and hard STEM subjects are maths and physics. Majority of STEM subjects are a borefest, and its people on the softer side of these subjects who are always bragging about the superiority of STEM subjects. I bet you study soft STEM subject like some type of engineering.Non-STEM subjects are for naagaha

There’s no such thing
as a soft job
If your being paid

Who gives you the right
to call it soft

Engineering students are the biggest fraud in universities. They take a linear algebra course and just pick up the the computational aspects. Never bother about linear mappings, vector spaces. They are the type to use L'hospital's rule on every limit. Their whole approach to learning is extremely shallow. They are fraud. I've more respect for people studying land economy than engineering students. No I don't and engineering soft? What have you been smoking ? I'd say though that there are many non-STEM subjects that are incredible. It's just because of the current economy that people are trying to make more pragmatic choices.

I think we need more graduate students in everything. They couldn't even find Somali social scientists a few years back when they were establishing an institute in East Africa. We need as many people studying at top universities at the graduate level as possible. You can't make an expert in three/four years. Have you been back home? People there are knowledge hungry. Once you tell them what you studied, they will pick your brain, and ask a lot of questions. In this country many Somali kids afforded world class opportunities are like 'gang, gang, gang,' ffs.I think as Somalis we need to place emphasis on STEM subjects so we can help develop things back home, because studying things likr political science back home clearly hasn't done much good for them
Is school that hard in the uk?Mudanes, Marwos, If you know me and if we haven't met this is a YoungFarah AMA so ask away![]()
