@sophisticate I told you so. It is an existential threat in the West. It is happening to a top SSPOTer.

I'm unphased. I can listen to Vivaldi then Jodeci, have matcha green tea while reading limited edition comic books or Tolstoy, watch foreign indie movies and then go to an Ayurvedic practitioner without it influencing my dating/spousal choices.

Then again, I was born here and my parents have had a long residency in the west. Unlike more recent arrivals, I have nothing to prove.

There are no existential threats. People are often attracted to similar values and most would like that package to look familiar or similar to themselves. And this will not go away entirely. There will always be diehards that will exist. It's pointless to concern oneself with the mating decisions of other Somalis who are ideologically very different from yourself. It's out of our hands.
