Democracy is more than the peaceful transfer of power. Its about strong, resilient democratic institutions. Kenyans fight over the transfer of power but their democratic institutions are far more resilient than ours. Our presidents conduct extrajudicial actions, there is no auditing of government. Somaliland holds elections and has peaceful transfer of power but we see with Muse Bixi how it can all be threatened because of the lack of clear separations of power, resilient democratic institutions.

Also a strong middle class is the backbone of all democracies. Kenya has built a far larger middle class than we have. In Somalia wealth and incomes is extremely unequal. There is just villas and ramshackle homes

We need to focus on building on our strengths to establish strong democratic institutions, a strong middle class in Somalia and have truly nationalist political parities.

You got fair points, but peaceful power transfer is the most basic element in democracy and tbh Kenya's system is more corrupt than Somalia, you cant bribe a Somali soldier for the trivial things that you can bribe a Kenyan soldier for. Kenya systematically is in many ways inferior or equal to current Somalia. I feel like Kenyans dont have a reason to be patriotic. Somalis are patriotic but have been stricken with bad luck.

The newly elected guy is not hostile to Somalia as much as Raila was.. Raila even said he'd recognize Somaliland as soon as he gets elected. His the Kenyan Trump, nonsensical piece of sh1t.
