I have noticed that dozens of people on this forum simply do not know about their heritage.
this has lead to the alternate identity theories. we have the ones that claim the color black, while on the other hand we have the ones that claim to be of the arabian tribes. since the arab claim is the most ridiculous of the two i will start to debunk it first.

the claim is that arab individuals have started the isaaq and darood tribes. well if one arab has an child with an somali woman, the child is half somali half arab. when the child marries and has an child. the child will become 75% somali 15% arab. the next generation is 100% somali. there are only traces left in the dna however the genome is 99.9999999999% somali. while this is still an theory and debunked many times by dna results of somalis hailing from all regions.

the black claim is just sad, the ones we claim this have lost touch with the somali heritage.
the somali people never accepted to be identified as an negro or black. they have swore to god to die first before that happens. the entire colonial horn had one policy for the people who could prove that they were somali. to fight against colourism in the then british somaliland, the elders oposed firmly against whites having their babies on their territory. the rule was either the child will be adopted by the somali community and raised as an moslim or will be sentenced to death. to avoid any uprising the whites traveled to colonial kenya to give birth. how brutal it sounds the policy was effective into countering the colorism attempt.

the historical records show us that the somali people since ancient times liked to be identified as their own people.
we might have issues with each other at times, and it did get out of hand the last decades.

even back in the day when portugal was wilding and enslaving the coasts of africa, we were a people who had dignity and were proud of their people.
not only did they defeat the portugese invaders, they enslaved them. how poetic is that, enslaving the people who were sent to enslave you.

we have had powerful empires and kingdoms throughout our entire existance. if you bothered to research the somali history you guys would have been amezed.
we survived every era of humanity since our existance, this alone is something to be proud of.

the somali identity that many youny diasporic somalis like to disgard. is the very same identity that has conquered 1114983,5km2 with an small population.
you are willing to disregard your identity including it's heritage for what? people wo have been opressed or arabs that have comspired against us all for oil.

this self hating behavior got's to end, it is in our nature to help opressed people. however don't lose yourself in the fight of human liberty.

do any of you sspot posters know about the historical weight of the term Race?

back in the day the europeans decided to divide humanity into human races inorder to justify the demonization of certain people.

the imperialists of europe have succesfuly implanted this disgrace in to cultures all around the world.

today the term race is still used to divide people in order to rule them. people around the world have lost their ancesteral identity the latinos are perfect examples. who knows about the native people of latin america?

I cringe every time i hear someone justifying race. humanity is one race, genetics have shown us that we are not much different from one another.

to accept race is to accept defeat, it is an submissive position.

haven't yall all of the american population has something infront of american like african american latin american etc. this does not apply on white americans they are seen as regular americans.

this shows that there is an class system ya'll live in. american 1st class the rest 2,3 or even fourth class.

the people who accept the label that is given to them have no say in their own future in that land. they name you, they rule you, and most important of all they opres you in that sense.

to choose the color black or black race is confirmation that you have gone through an identiy crises and have risen the white flag to accept the label given to you.

if you are not from the african american community you have no place in their culture or heritage. what would you guys think when african americans copy the somali culture and trash it. it is not nice to mess with other peoples culture.

so if you choose to identify or claim any race accept humanity or your bloodline, you have not only failed in the eyes of your own ancestors and people. you have also failed in the eyes of the creater himself. since we were divided between tribes and nations under the command of the creator.

so skipping to different culture than yours is a big no no. the only way in to an culture is friendship,marriage and cultural appreciation. never to join only to observe.
