It's not just money though. A high value man will have a lot of women be interested in him. Think of a tall, handsome, well dressed, high earning, charming, confident man. I'm not saying that this means the women will stay around but it does mean he's got one foot in the door.
Since men approach women 95% of the time and start off things this is very important.
This is why I like the purple pill. I agree with red pill sayings but sometimes it's too black and white for me. Believing in just blue pill is absolute crap though

Character comes first since it's more static, coins which are variable come second. Though proof of concept that he has something he's striving toward and has achieved certain milestones before settling down is important. That means different things to different people though.
If you think MN/Twin Cities is bad, California is a lot worse. Median income in San Francisco is $126k per Census Data, compared to $70k in Minneapolis. Incomes considered high in other parts of the country are basically like living in a single apartment paycheck to paycheck in CA. Plus, a lot more urban sprawl in the Twin Cities means that there is a lot more housing available in the area compared to houses in San Francisco selling at $1M+. The region is also pretty cold and a flyover region, so less people want to live in MN contributing to less demand for housing.
