What are you thinking could be consequence other than verbal chastising of that midget Yamamoto
My two cents for what they are worth.
First we need to look at the US geopolitical interests in the Horn of Africa.
Prior to coming to Somalia, Donald Yamamoto was the US ambassador to Ethiopia, Djibouti, and Eritrea, as well as acting assistant secretary of state for African affairs. He is the one who crafted the US strategy for the Horn of Africa which prioritized regional integration and Somali state-building.
So, we are talking about a guy who has a lot of experience and carries weight in the US State Department.
Yamamoto is not in support of Somaliland's independence and insists on the US assistance to Somaliland always going through Mogadishu.
There is a whole campaign going on against him in the US by the pro-Israeli lobbyists. Their mouth piece is Michael Rubin. This guy is so wicked. He openly supports Haftar in Libya, despite of mass killings of civilians and bombing cities. He advocates for Somaliland's indepenedence and chastise Yamamoto for increasing US tax liability by assisting Somalia in debt relief, etc. But, you will never see Rubin raising the same concerns when the US gifts Israel billions of dollars every year.
So, that is what kind of people Yamamoto is standing against.
It makes Deni's tuulo shenanigans highly opposed by Yamamoto as he has almost a tunnel vision about how Somalia should proceed.
Deni boxed himself in.
Option 1: He comes to the table and works as a team member and say that is what he was gonna do anyway. Deni's fiasco will be forgotten.
Option 2. He continues being a spoiler with his closeted stance stunning political progress by scheming around. He will be eventually wiped out, most likely from within. The US has this kind of clout and plenty of experience.
Option 3. He goes nuclear and tries to split from Somalia Somaliland style. It is a road to nowhere.
In conclusion, Deni does not strike me as a smart or shrewd politician. It is hard to predict stupid people.
