Qabilism

It made sense hundreds of years ago but it doesn’t make sense now, especially in the west. Why are people discriminating against qabils when we are all Somali and almost all of us look exactly the same :mjlol: someone explain. Also you don’t choose what Qabil you are so why shame people for their Qabil. None of it makes sense

Qabiil make sense even in the west tbh somalis that never traditionally bordered each other like Isaaq and Marexaan will not get along in the diaspora. This is because there’s dialects and culture differences

My mom is a Qabilist :damn: I brought up that Madhibaan thread on here and she said she’d disown me if I married a Madhibaan guy but my dad said as long as he’s Somali and a good Muslim and a good man I don’t care I will accept:gucciwhat:

Tribalism is built into Somali culture wether you like it or not. Back in the day, qabiil meant everything because of family relations, protection and drama. Nowadays it's not that useful but we can't deny that it's an important part of our culture.

I don’t think the dialect differences are that big of a deal honestly cause you can still kind of understand each other. My mom speaks af maay and it sounds weird but I understand everything she says

Can she really disown you then? I’m assuming your dad calls the shots

I don’t like that people use Qabil to discriminate others or cause buuq. It’s fine to be proud of your Qabil and heritage but why use it to be an asshole.

Lol i have noticed that a long time ago. My dad (isaaq) hangs out with every qabil at the somali mosque after prayer. laughs and eats with them and he even drives some of them home if they ask. But my hoyo talks shit about other qabils and dont even sees them as somalis :mjlaugh: :dead:

That’s the problem Somalis have this stereotype that Rahanweyn who mainly speak af maay-maay are beggars. :manny:
