Everything he said is 100% true, a united centralized Somalia is the best outcome. The problem is that Mogadishu is a Hawiye city and I a Darood man will always be a 2nd class citizen there. Why should I and my people in PL and JL accept this when we can carve out our lands and self-administer? Somali was finished as a real state when USC cleansed Darood out of Mogadishu. Everyone saw the writing on that wall, even the white researchers saw it just 4 years after the fact.
It should have been partitioned like Yugoslavia, so much wasted time would have been saved.

Reconciliation is happening slowly. Xamar is no longer just a hawiye city, Darod people and people from other clans are slowly moving back. Peace and prosperity is slowly returning. There's no need to get extreme and call for balkanization. A united Somalia is achievable and much more desirable than a bunch of small, clan enclaves hostile to each other.

I know foreigners are a part this mess but I stopped blaming them a long time. They did help create the climate for the collapse of our state but it was our fault that it even happened and our fault that we are still in this mess. They wouldn't have the ability to push their agenda if the Somali didn't give it to them.
These maamuls are probably our only way out of this mess tbh. The only way we could work together in a Federal Government that is similar to Siad Barre's is if we abandonned qabiil all together or if some strongman got into power by military force. Let's be real, having a central government like the old one is just a fantasy at the moment. Today we are more tribalistic then we have ever been in our entire history. We currently do not have the capacity to work together in a way that would benefit the Somali people as a whole. It is time we all part ways, everybody can run their own territory how they like since we hate being ruled by other qabiils. This would work if all the lines were drawn very clearly and all territories well defined, not this bullshit were Puntland, Galmudug, Somaliland and SSW all have overlapping territories. To avoid these clashes between maamuls we need have everything written clearly and accepted by everyone. We also have to do something about this nonsense where each maamul maintains their own armed forces. These clowns will only destroy each other if that is possible. Perhaps if we follow some sort of system that is loosely based on these principals we can move forward at a decent pace. Right now the country is developing awfully slowly, you would could say that we aren't at all when you look at southern somalia. The place is just a hotbed of conflict.
Our biggest obstacle right now is the lack real reconciliation. Their hasn't been a single forum where all qabiils have owned up to their mistakes and made genuine promises to right the wrongs. All these people have to do is admit what they have done, hand over whatever loot they still have (mostly just houses) and discuss are proper system for governance, not this 4.5 trash. It up to us to fix this mess, Turkey and the UAE cannot fix it themsleves, at best they can only strong-arm the government in the right direction.

Imagine Somalia is a nation with a majority one people, language, religion and culture but still can't build a nation. Ethiopia is a nation of over 80 ethnic groups with over 80 language with yet so many different cultures and for some 'miraculous' nature it existed with pretty much the same borders for hundreds and hundreds of years. From an empire to a republic.

Ethiopia's government isn't something amazing. The people don't even like each other. If the current government wasn't powerful they would all be killing each other. The Oromos and Amharas would destroy each other the hardest. Even brighter now the government isn't showing much promise. It's either going to collapse or completely restructure.

We have united before. Sayyid abdallah muhammad Hassan made a huge country. The country was essentially a darood country. I do believe the handles did join him aswell.

Yes, I am aware of their existence but none actually created a unified Somali nation so I have no idea why they're mentioned.
The overwhelming majority of sultanstes and empires was built on the pretext of my clan rules. Larger clans invaded smaller ones. The Ajuraan was a clan in of itself.
