I'm paraphrasing what someone else posted in another thread, but it seems like Somaliland has always had two choices: genuinely going for independence or joining Somalia. The leaders have been content with being in this limbo state, telling their people they want recognition while not truly pursuing it. But now that Somalia is getting stronger, the choice is being made for them. You can't have a semi-independent state inside another state and refuse to talk to them at the same time. In my view, they brought this on themselves.30 years of lies and khurufaad and cuqdad has led to isaaq children believe laascaanood is an isaaqland!
there are two wars simultaneously side by side fought over one at the battle field on the outskirts of laascaanood and the other one is a political one on international stage - isaaq is loosing both.
