Basically he means that if Ukraine joined nato and it tried to retake its De jure territory, Russia will fight Ukraine, and when that happens, the article 5 of nato will go into effect, meaning a nato v Russia conflict. Where Russia is weaker and can’t win.

I do not like people being forced against their will, but we have to pragmatists here; Russia, like any other major geopolitical player has every right to have a safety buffer around them, even if it means to the detriment of ukrainians. It's all just a ploy. The Ukraine 'crisis' has now replaced the covid scam as the top news story on all media broadcasts. Again, Russia is used as a foil to deflect from Washington’s incompetence. I’m reminded of the movie 'Wag the Dog', which premiered around the time of the Clinton Lewinsky scandal. Robert DeNiro, as a deep state fixer, was hired to create a fake war with a small Eastern Euro country. Then, wouldn’t you know, Uncle Sam went to war with Serbia, bombing them repeatedly for weeks, over their non-existent genocide of the Kosovo Muslims. Same old Washington playbook. Crimea should have never been a part of Ukraine to begin with. It was only ever part of the Ukraine union republic for administrative purposes.

Weird how spheres of influence stop being a thing when it concerns Russia. If you don't want to be invaded, don't bring an anti-Russian military alliance to their doorstep.
