Deni is running for President of Somalia so he has to resign according to puntland’s constitution

There is no power struggle or anything surprising happening. If you are president of Puntland and run to be president of Somalia then you have to resign, that’s all that’s happening.

They could have just worded the tweet horrible and meant the VP is acting in the role of the President since the current President is on a trip to UAE for PL interests. Without adding the second part about the President being on a trip their tweet makes it seem like Karaash is now the president of PL
What youre describing is the process of VP permanently finishing a presidential term
People routinely become acting presidents/governors/mayors, especially during brief ilnesses. If/when Deni leaves office, Karaash becomes president. Karaash stays president until a new PL parliament selects a new president. This is what happened when the Cabdi Garaad VP ina CabdiXaashi became PL president after Cabdillahi Yuusuf ascended to TFG

Acting is not the same as interim president. If Karaash becomes interim president, he has to vacate his VP seat and someone else becomes VP.
