Unity will never happen that is unrealistic. There are 3 political centres in Somalia as there was before colonialism. Berbera and it’s periphery, Mogadishu and it’s periphery and majeerteenia. Majeerteenia was a protectorate and was only incorporated in konfuur when the Italians decided to make the East African colony from Eritrea to Ethiopia to Somalia 1 unit in the 1920s

Somali unity only came about because of a sense of togetherness caused by colonialism. The politicians after colonialism didn’t take advantage and build a nation. Siad barre then used pitting qabils against each other to stay in power which put united Somalis in a coffin.

The reality now is there are 3 visions for how united Somalia could be one from Somaliland one from puntland and one from konfuur and now the winner is the one that militarily subdues both the other 2 which will never happen.

The solution which is basically happening now is Somaliland independence puntland independence and konfuur independence. It will stabilize all three regions. It will stop war. It will allow the UN arms embargo to be lifted and Ethiopia getting out of our affairs. It will mean the three regions can exploit there resources and open up for business.

The alternative is an indefinite UN arms embargo and Somalis killing each other with small arms while our neighbours get more powerful. This is what ethiopia wants.

Totally agree with you. The amount of civil wars, hardcore clan wars, massacres and different ideologies never existed before UN created somalia. Yugoslavia style balkanisation is only way just look how Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro he'll even Kosovo prospered with self-rule.
