The senators and MP representing PL all left the chambers when it illegally voted to auction the country's natural resources. Deni rightfully questions the priorities of, by the African Union backed, central government. The priorities should lie on security and finishing the constitution.

I think oil companies require 'large leases of land'. The south is to settled and urban or farming and the large lease of land is not feasible without removing everyone from there, this is highly unlikely to occur. They prefer land open unsettled land be it ice caps in canada or russia or deserts of arabia. PL has large unsettled land so it's prime land for oil.

If u mean 'offshore oil' because the South can attempt only 'offshore' then I guess yes it's possible for southern oil industry but only OFFSHORE. But offshore thing is going to hurt them when 1600 KM of coastline is in PL territory. Nearly 50% and JL owns another good portion. I feel for Somali govt, they want to do something but they simply don't have the land or sea to do it, tough situation bay ku jiran wallahi.
