It is great to see how serious the Deni administration is about getting the people of Puntland to accept the legitimacy of elections. The more the average person knows about the process the less likely they are to accept propaganda against elections.

You are correct. TPEC made huge effort for awareness on PL pilot election. So can most of the citizens participate on it.

It's great milestone for coming Local elections in 2022.

Coming back to your question. Unfortunately right now I have no idea. I think in local elections in next year will be cleared by TPEC.

TPEC RECEIVES VOTER REGISTRATION SYSTEM

The voter registration system handed over to TPEC in Garowe today.

Garowe (PP News Desk) — Puntland Transitional Electoral Commision today received a voter regulation system from PIITECH, an IT consultancy.

The equipment will be used to register voters at the three districts designated for pilot local government elections to take place in 2021.

In 2020 PIITECH won a tender to supply the voter registration system to be used by TPEC.
Ten political associations will contest the pilot local elections. Three of them will graduate to political parties.

Mohammed Ismail Siibad, the Chairman of Mustaqbal, a political association, slammed TPEC for violating the electoral roadmap and the universal suffrage stipulated in the Puntland Constitution to conduct elections only in three districs.
