Puntland household survey 2024

Have you got the actual report? What measurement tools are they using to gauge literacy? How do they define it?

I would have thought it is higher than that, as the majority of the people are young, most use smart phones, and many have migrated to the villages and cities.

Never mind, found it.

The sub-sample for Puntland SIHBS was 1,944 households selected from 162 enumeration areas (EAs) in five regions.

High blood pressure, diabetes, and kidney failure are awfully high, more so in males. I thought diabetes was rare back home. Understandably, mental illness is high with post war trauma and lack of care considered. I would not be surprised if 'gudniin' contributed to the higher rate of hepatitis amongst females.

This is a surprise: at mere 1.8% for khat chewing.

One old women who sold Tea told me she drinks 20 cups a day no wonder she got diabetes

The fertility stats go against most statistics I’ve seen about Somalia sool and sanaag are usually the highest

TFR and household size are two different measurement methods. A lower average household size doesn't necessary contradict a higher TFR, since the latter is an indicator of fertility amongst women of childbearing age, while the former includes all demographic categories and in another context.

Ok thanks for the clarification I was comparing it to the united nations reports I’ve seen on Somalia
