These Doctors who specialize in Gastroenterology, Oncology, Trauma & Orthopedic Surgery will be working in PL (in particular at Galkacyo's Shifo Hospital).

Dr. Mohamud Mohamed Artan (a Trauma & Orthopedic Surgeon who was trained/licensed in Finland) is currently working at Garowe’s Arafat International Hospital as a Consultant (Attending) in trauma & orthopedic surgery. The very first total hip/knee replacements in Somalia were performed by this Doctor.

He is an expert at hip and knee surgeries but is not limited to just this kind of pt’s and does various other ortho related procedures such as surgical debridement/joint washout for pt’s with osteomyelitis/septic arthritis, fixation of long bones, explorations of wounds & ambulations to name a few. This Doctor is providing much needed service. May Allah bless him.

A nation cannot rely on importing knowledge in medicine as it is a critical infrastructure for any nation future. It addresses infant mortality rates, preventable diseases, immunisation, general population health needs, specialized and senior health, surgical, testing facilities, etc. We got a long way to go.

All Puntite kid must be immunised to ensure their nutrition and disease free. A healthy new generation will be born as they will be shocked when they see other Somali kids who r dying early or are malnourished due to no social services and wonder are we from the same country. PL will need to construct a health quarantine to test Somalis entering our state with their nafaqo daro iyo cuduro. Their next generation is dying out, let them not spread it to our land.

This Burtinle Referral Hospital should be made a standard for all B level towns. Grade A level towns obviously need their own standard since their capitals of a state. But B level towns should be made to either copy or improve upon Burtinle Referral hospitals.




For those unaware PL towns are graded as Grades where capitals of states are given A grading, Tuulos are given C grade while large towns not fully a capital but not a tuulo is given grade C.

I have a dream that PL major capitals in Galkacyo, Garowe, Bosaso, Qardho, Dhahar, Badhan will all be equipped with world class hospitals while all B grade towns are equipped with a referral hospital, and C grade tuulos can all be connected to their closest referral hospital. I want to see major investment in surgeries and specialist facilities in the capitals to distinguish itself from referral hospital.

I can envision our people having the best health outcomes in Somalia then while the other bakhti clans are dying away.
