Puntland Hasn't Gained A Thing From Somalia

Puntland wants two things:

• Fair share of foreign aid. It can be based on the number of MPs and senators Puntland has, on the number of districts, the number of people from the 2014 population estimate etc… just its fair share
• To not surrender to the FGS any powers outside of the four mentioned in the constitution:
  • Foreign Affairs
  • National Defense
  • Citizenship and Immigration
  • Monetary Policy

The problem Puntland has is that the people it has to deal with have an inferiority complex vis-a-vis Puntland’s largest community, the Majeerteen.

Hawiye cannot deal in a straightforward manner with MJ because of this inferiority complex. There is always present a need to get a dig in or twist the knife even if it gets the Hawiye politician in question no net gain. Hawiye see themselves as social inferiors of MJ so they will take any chance they get to cause harm to MJ interests even if there is no gain to be had.

Politics is a repeat game of reciprocity, Hawiye can’t play this game with MJ without making it zero sum.

I would negiotate with them if they were united behind some political goal, but their like dameers with no unity, reliant on some 5 year personal interest guy with a looting history, so even if u do agree with them, the next 5 year moryan leader will undo everything, so it's a pointless discussion. The other symptom I noticed is their leaders are only hell bent on destroying PL(dad tashday), so this vaccum their in is very dangerous for us.
