For years now, people have accused Puntland of wanting to behave like a nation within a nation......

You are correct, we have always felt and believed that we should have our own kingdom, because we do.

For as long as we have existed, we have been ruled by a ruling family and every subclan has a ruler, these are our esteemed "isimmo", they uphold the law and have allowed us to live like civilized beings.

In fact, the reason why many Somalis from all over Somalia moved to Puntland is because local Dal Udug law, protects them from being abused and robbed.

If someone attacks or harasses you, the clan elder will get your rights for you, no matter who you are.

Even political prisoners can attest to this.

Yes, during the Somali nationalism era during and after colonialism, we were all injected with "Somalia ha noolaato" pride but we have never given up our desire to be autonomous.

Every single one of our leaders has always pushed for autonomous powers and rights, but instead of just wanting it for ourselves, we invited ALL Somalis to join us in this quest to be free.

We introduced and pushed for Federalism, an idea initially brought forth by our D&M friends @Balaayo

We realised that us Somalis are tied together for better or for worse, so why not live together under a system that suits us.

Soon, we will see new announcements that afford Puntland the status it desires the most. It's being discussed by the opposition as I type this!!

The only thing missing from PL sovereignty is new currency. Adopt the silver dirham which can be minted by any person with silver. MJ can should lead on this issue before FGS starts issuing a new currency that they will hyperinflate
