Somalia is unfortunately a republic and I am monarchist, in a republic u r considered a citizen in all Somalia, unfortunately if we had a monarchy, u would be considered a guest of his highness and not a citizen. Either way u need to contribute South West boys into puntland army, u have huge stake there and u should be participating in protecting puntland

In a monarchy everyone is a guest of the king or queen even the government-police-courts-residents, you are either residents or citizens lakin the state itself is a 'marti' to the boqor and that includes everyone within the boqor jurisdiction. So they can still be resident/citizen lakin the 'state' falls under the 'king and his royal chambers the isimo' and the land and people are under the state so u all report to the monarch.

I agree the status of puntites who are not natives is in 'limbo' and they live and work in PL and are considered officially citizens who even pay taxes lakin at a social and legal level their seen as foreigners, this is untenable in the long run.

Either si toos ah haloo sheego shisheeye baad tihin legally/socially and u should begin plans to relocatae them or treat them like natives and give them political representation and demand they participate in dying for puntland. I hate siyasad aan 'war cad' ahayn and is in some grey murky area.

The legal status and social status of non native puntites is 'barakac' kkkk it means your 'displaced' marka native ama dhalasho ma tihid, your treated under 'displaced' status which means they expect you will go home once your able to do so security wise iyo siday ii muuqato dadkani meel ay u socodan uma jeedi, marka barakac statuskani wa in laga badela and give them 'muwadin' status iyo wixi laga rabo muwadinka iyaguna wa inay samayan especially register and die for puntland thru military, intelligence, and police service.

@Balaayo it is possible that rahanwayn status changes from 'displaced' to 'muwadin' but I think it will take time, my sub sub clan was barakac 200 years ago from bari to nugaal and now we have full 'muwadin' status in nugaal but we contribute soldiers and defend puntland in history and today.

U stand a better chance at gaining muwadin status then oromo though, you have dhalasho status in terms of somali citizen due to our republic system but your not a 'muwadin' status which basically means 'citizen' of puntland, your people are more like 'citizens of somalia while their temporary resident with displaced status in puntland' I haven't seen much discussion about puntland legal code for various people but I suspect it's based on somali federal constitution since we believe in somali republic but we sure act more like a boqortoyo

That so called desert region has a higher HDI then anywhere else in Somalia, we might be third world and still overly focused on rural economic activities, but we are building our locals up with an urban economy, qardho just began a technical institute that is going to have technical skills training at international standard level.

I agree doctor, that isn't the problem. The problem is Puntland and somaliland have relative peace compared to the south and so they have higher HDI. But when the south becomes more peaceful, I doubt people would stay in other deegans but rather develop their own. Remember they are here because they are displaced due to war.

No offense, but no political representation for non locals, and only local clans will be part of the security force. Just like I wouldn't have political representation in a region I'm not from.
