The most honorable death is the one where you die defending your country, religion, and people. It is the death that Allah (SWT) has described in the Qur'an, with its reward being Paradise, and the person is recognized before Allah as "Mujaahid fi Sabeelillah" (a fighter in the path of Allah).
Anyone who dies in this way is classified as a Mujaahid fi Sabeelillah. Such individuals bid farewell to this world with honor and enter the hereafter with the sweetest fragrance of Paradise. They experience a noble death, a fate not everyone attains.
This is evidenced by several truths:
1. We are Somalis, living in Somalia, our own land. We are Sunni Muslims, and we have not invaded anyone else's wealth or lands.
2. We are fighting against foreign invaders—strangers who came to our land not by Allah's will, but to spill our blood, take over our children and women, and seize our land to change our religion. These invaders hail from Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, and Ethiopia. Their lands are peaceful, governed by stable governments, and their children live in safety, enjoying education and healthcare. They don't experience the explosions and bloodshed they bring to us.
In their lands, people of different faiths coexist, including Christians, Shiites, atheists, and others, yet they don't attack or label their own non-Muslims as disbelievers. Among the 40 Khawarij (extremists) we fought today in Puntland, whose corpses I stood over, not one was Somali. Most of them were Arabs, with only one Ethiopian among them. I asked myself: Are we in Iraq or Syria?
Iraq is home to both Sunnis and Shiites; why don't they make all of Iraq Sunni?
Syria also has Sunnis and Shiites; why don't they make it entirely Sunni?
Lebanon has Christians; why don't they convert it to Islam?
Ethiopia is 80% Christian; why don't they Islamize it?
Meanwhile, Somalia is 100% Sunni Muslim.
This proves that the Khawarij are not driven by religion. A true religious mission does not fail, and its adherents are not repeatedly defeated as we have witnessed today.
True carriers of the faith are victorious, and Allah always supports them. Look back at the defeated terrorist groups:
Al-Itihaad
The Islamic Courts Union
The Galgala militants
The extremists in Suuj and Garmal
If these groups were truly propagating religion, would they have suffered such humiliating defeats? The bearers of true religion are us, and Allah has supported us.
Those who stand for the truth do not fear death, nor do they hide in caves and valleys, running from their inevitable end. A man of truth, like us, stands openly, confronts the sword head-on, and sacrifices his love for life for the elevation of truth.
We do not mourn our fallen heroes; instead, we congratulate them for dying in the path of Allah, earning His Paradise as a reward. We will continue to defend our land, people, and religion, and we will triumph, by Allah's will.
The Puntland forces and its people are victorious, achieving a historic success.
