I remember back in 2004, there were pictures of Col. Careys of Puntland army visiting injured SL trooops in Las Anod ( when PL controlled it) and shaking their hands and I saw the same thing with Nuux Taani SL army general shaking hands and sharing a laugh with Puntland Pows.

They even know each other on first bases. Remember many officers on both sides served together in the past under the SNA
