Those occupied by Shabaab should lose representation! At least then there’d been an incentive for states/citizens with Al-Shabaab occupation to actually fight for them.

I support banaadir getting its statehood as long as it doesnt include lower shabeelle.

As for changing the capital of somalia, i dont think there is another suitable city in this point of time. The capital should stay where it is unless all somalis unanimously agree to move it and the location to which it should be moved to.

Unfortunately yes. But I’m referring to senate distribution and parliament which is why most people worry about new states forming.

States should lose 4.5 representation seats and instead be allocated seats based on population. Same with districts. That way if certain qabiil has 5 states it wouldn’t matter.

If you’re land is large but only has 100,000 poeple you shouldn’t get the same amount of seats as 400,000 population in smaller lands.

Similar with qabiil, if your ‘qabiil’ controls a districts/regions/states shouldn’t be given seats. Instead an election should decide the representation from each district in which anyone can run as long as their political party isn’t a threat to Somalia’s sovereignty.

What I’m saying isn’t even rocket science. It’s how most countries functions, we all know this. We have retards like @DR OSMAN who doesn’t understand census’ and population allocated districts. They’ve argued a PL district of 10,000 people should have same voting representation as Mogadishu 2 million people.

You are right, sooner or later if we get 1m1v insha Allah we will have to argee on two things:

how many Mps per district and how many popualtion an area needs to become a district, 10k? 100?K

DDs for example ONLF made in 1993 that each degmo will have to get 3 Mps, so if a district grows to 200K then it will be split in to two because each degmo can only be called a degmo with 100K humans

The reason iley split Libaan into two for Garre and degodia was because degodia population grew so they got their own gobal and also to make the south of Ogadeniya really strong so they can defend themselves s in case of Boran attacking Moyaale Libaan,. thus it was best to cool the area and give each clan their own gobals

but a gobal for DDS is 1 million, Ogaden also got a new gobal and with 42 new degmos created OG got 39, the majority because their population increased massively,

point is 1m1v will be a massive headache because i fear presidents clan may give themselves more degmo thus more MPs so his clan can win

somalia has never had a real census, in 1975 last one it was estimated, same with Ethiopia, it was cancelled 3 times between 2015-2019 because the ahmaar and abiy really fear the outcome

we need an honest population count, but how can that happen if alkabab has a lot of the land?

if they say xamar is 2 million how can we verify? naturally xamar will get far more Mps just the way london has way more Mps than Manchester or Belfast

we need to have an honest conversation about the population of the nation and carry out a real census

Well if Bosaso became Somalia's national capital city would you call for Bosaso to no longer be part of PL state? Banadir must be part of a federal member state and therefore have representation in the federal Senate. Either Banadir forms a new state with Lower Shabelle (my preference) or it joins Hiirshabelle
