Most Somali female influencers with a lot of followers are brown to dark skin. Diaspora Somali girls root for Somali girls that actually look like us. Even the Somali dramas/shows back home have brown skin ethnic Somali women as the protagonists.

You could use the same argument when ppl use Somalis with way too soft like Indian hair or look like more exotic. Its like that guy who was playing for the galmudug team. Everyone was going crazy over him the same way ppl are gassing up the Djibouti girl who was playing football.
Soft, curly hair is one of the most common hair types for Somalis. We shouldn’t be proud of that anymore? Only girls and boys with afros which isn’t as common? Would that make us more prideful people?

Skin bleaching in our community is a recent thing in the last ten years, many young women have seen the effects and dangers of skin bleaching and soon will decline .
It’s not proximity to whiteness since those are our features, how about the whites have our features , why give credit to them every time
That doesnt mean that those aren't somali features too. All of this is a comparison to western beauty standards. Which is the cadaan look. I'm simply comparing it
