You can read about it here, but the main point are listed below

So what would the proposal entail? Here are the key points:

  • The Premier League would be reduced from 20 to 18 clubs.
  • The EFL Cup and the Community Shield would be scrapped.
  • Current one-club one-vote principle would be abolished, as would rule that 14 clubs out of the current 20 need to agree on policy.
  • Power would be in the nine clubs that have remained in the Premier League longest (Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City, Southampton, Tottenham, West Ham).
  • Only six of the nine longest-serving clubs need to vote for major change.
  • A £250m payment up front to the EFL, plus £100m payment to the Football Association.
  • 25 per cent of Premier League annual revenue (up from four per cent) would go to the EFL clubs.
Thoughts? I believe this is good IMO, more money to clubs in lower leagues, and less deadweight in the Prem. This will most likely also lead to a European super league in the future, as the top clubs start monopolizing power.

Imagine;

Bayern v Madrid on Monday
Juventus v PSG on Tuesday
Liverpool v Barca on Wednesday

Gunners don't want to lose their only saving grace (EFL cup) :lolbron:

It's a good plan to channel funds esp TV rights and capping tickets but it's anti competitive and can easily lead to legal disputes over conflicts of interest.

Among those decisions are new ownership of Premier League clubs; so if a team outside of the the big nine are approached for a takeover, they would need six of the big nine to vote in favour of it.

Apparently In order for this to happen 14 out of the 20 teams in the Premier League would need to agree to this. 2/3 majority vote needed.

I can see why the top 6 clubs would agree to it as it’s more power and control. But why would a team like a Southampton or another mid table/relegation team agree to this?
