Professor Maxamuud Tuuryare has unfortunately passed away

This is a very sad day, may allah have mercy on the Professor. Professor Tuuryare is one of Agoonyars many great academics who has made a name for himself as far as Russia. He taught law, many of his peers saying he’s unchallenged in the subject. He died of natural causes at a very old age, but he will never be forgotten.

He was a real Somali patriot. Siyad Barre once gifted him with a car back when having one was a luxury. He asked Barre was this car bought with your wealth or the peoples wealth. When Barre couldn’t answer the question he turned down the offer.

He also once organised for hundreds of Somali students to study in America. He was then told by Barres inner circle to take Barres daugher (who wasn’t a student nor had the qualifications) with him. He refused and said if she’s coming then I will cancel the whole trip. Barre actually agreed with him and his daughter never got to leave with the others. This was the kind of man he was.

Tbh give the man his due. There’s no one who fought Barre like my people, and they’ll all attest that he was not corrupt. His kids were not privileged, his drunkard son used to be arrested regularly.

He himself wasn’t corrupt, but his inner circle who took over after his accident got filthy rich from Xaraam wealth, so his regime was still corrupt.

But still, my family still hold a high level of respect for him, even former USC fighters. But the cons of his rule heavily outweighed the pros so he had to go.
