Arabs are more accepting than you'd think. I've heard stories about northern Yemenis being pretty racist but southern Yemenis like Hadhramoutis and Khaleejis like Omanis and Emiratis are generally fairly accepting of Somalis as "Arabs", believe it or not. Can't tell you how many times I've had to explain that we have our own language and that Arabic is just a sort of second language for religion, business and some education and that a lot of Somalis can't speak it.

Every country has their own vested interests. When two countries have an interaction, both are pushing their own agenda. However, if we were strong and united, no one would touch us. As to your point about the dumping of toxic waste onto our waters, politicians (most namely one in particular who passed away recently) signed off on papers authorizing this to happen.

So yes on one hand there’s divide and conquer, but it’s easy because we’re already divided as it is.

I don’t know a solution to make Somalia peaceful and stable with many short sighted and money hungry people in power.
