those are concessions they have made which they do not have to make as women. a guy technically can just go back home and provide for women back home with comfort since the standard of living is lower. all im saying is where ever the guy is if he can reach a point where he is able to provide what is considered islamically the minimum for multiple then there is no issue.
your side note about 9 wives is irrelevant because polygamy is halal and im not talking about getting more then 4 wives and i made a clear statement about it being fine as long as an individual does it by the books. my only point was he doesn't have to be "rich" to be polygamous and based on what i said he cant be broke bellow a certain standard.
He can do that if lives back home fully and does that but if lives back home he would not be able to as what gives him the ability to do that is by living in the West.
The minimum isn’t easy and never has. The man is also meant to provide based on a woman’s family standards as well. That is the view of classical scholars for one marriage let alone two. You can’t get a girl from a middle class lifestyle and then reduce her lifestyle and that of your own kid’s Authobillah just because you want to satisfy your desires. What about her life? What about what she has always had?

In this day and age. Being polygamous you most definitely have to be rich.
