President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud public Q&A in Dhusamareb

HSM set four main goals that I also will judge him by.

1. Liberating all of Somalia from Al Shabaab

2. Completing the constitution

3. Lifting the arms embargo

4. Securing debt relief

Hopefully he will be able to reach these goals.

Got there before me. Yep this was the most striking

Also end of the year promises so very ambitious

He repeated that JL and KGS will be much quicker than HS/GM so most likely frontline states will still be participating down there
Also the new military tactics

Instead of capturing cities, he said we are advancing ‘saf balaaran’ to completely clean Shabaab. Something they’ve learnt

One last thing he did in his last speech was to say all the problem you’re seeing in other parts of the country is leaders overstaying their term and not agreeing on elections.

Says he’ll agree on type of elections by end of this year no matter what for 2026

One interesting thing he mentioned was that he intends to implement a disarming campaign throughout the country in a gradual manner.

He specifically said, now that heavy weapons/vehicles aren’t allowed in public in Xamar, the next step will be forbidding smaller arms too.

This is a huge ambition, especially outside of Xamar and will be hard to achieve. But it seems like those armed in the fight against AS will keep their arms for now.

All small guns? Honestly I think gun shouldn't be forbidden but place in some strict laws I Honestly doubt many tribes or militias are going to turn in their guns

Another essential priority he should focus on is deforestation and combating climate change, as well as education, particularly on removing the qabil attitude wallahi. Somalia will never progress if we battle over qabil and who's land belongs to whose tribe.

Yeah this part stood out to me too. He emphasies that all weapons will eventually end up in government hands when the government is powerful enough to enforce this. If he can pull that off in a post-shabaab somalia, it will be a massive step toward recovery

I consider trusting a irir with disarmament as one of the signs of the apocalypse. Ain't happening sxb

Didn't they change the name of the city to Samareeb
Why u still using "Dhuuso"?

Samareeb is a beautiful name
They should erase that Dhuuso abomination from history .
:ileycry:
I thought the city got this name cause the citizens fart nonstop

Hmmmm, let me see if I get this right:
The President of the Fed. gov't travels to a Fed. Member State, assumes power from its leadership, steps over Hiran, and Sh Dhexe, and lands at Galgaduub to fight AS? Are there no AS in Hiran and Sh Dhexe?

Would it not have made more sense to start in Sh Hoose, and Sh Dhexe abutting Xamar from South and North?

Word in Xamar is this: AS leadership is in Xamar, and have been paid off to vacate certain areas temporarily only to return at a later date.

Postscript:
A question for the pro-centralism voices: would there have been a Presidential compound in Dhusamareb had it not been for decentralisation?

He mentioned this. 500 FGS teachers are in Dhusamareb bring trained he said.

3,000 across the country. With plan to raise that to 10,000 in next couple years.

Minister of Education gave an interview last week said to reach all rural population we need 100,000+ teachers.
