Waanu cambaareyneynaa barnaamijka laga leeyahay mareykanka 60 Minutes oo no gafey. Somalia wa hal, nin qoomu-ludh ta ma badali karo."
We Somalis are inherently a homophobic society, but when our president openly insults, disparages and calls Anderson Cooper "qoomu ludh" (the people of Lot) for his magnificent story about the school in Somaliland (CBS' 60 Minutes), then he is encouraging intolerance and attacks by Somalis towards the LGBT community. The president should act like a Statesman and be courageous and smart to guide us to slowly shed all kinds of hatreds to our fellow human-beings and not indulge into a populist appeal to the masses by making homophobic and derogatory remarks about the LGBT community to make a point against the story on 60 minutes. He should apologise to Mr Cooper and the LGBT community.
