I don’t think they have been. Ever since Farmaajo’s voting in, they have been waiting for a small raise of their non existent paycheque.
I don't believe it. There were all the news of the gov paying the soilders regularly, maybe few months not being payed is believable but for the whole course of this administration existence?

I just hope this news isn’t demoralising to them and that they don’t decide to be spies or bandits.

When people join the Puntland army they don’t ask for pay from I’m told. Most people just volunteer and come for the free food, clothing and being around friends. The pay comes after.
People are arriving to the military outposts and demanding pay immediately. This is wrong.
There are people who don’t want this military to build or gain a collective mindset. Just look at the amount of people bring up what an Amisom soldier get paid and what he takes home. This mindset has to change.
Our soldiers and many of the people looking to do service are entering the military believing it’s a way of life. In canada when you join the cadets you don’t get paid upfront. You get skills and the opportunity to see serving in the military is something you are will to do.
Our military shouldn’t be a place to pick up a cheque and leave without a skill. We need these military leaders to use the opportunity to create a mindshift within in the military.
Nobody should get paid immediately to join the military.

joining the military is a full time job which comes with a salary, you cant ask someone to work for free specially when politicians are getting fat and rich while soldiers get nothing

We need a major culture shift and the military is the key to that shift. Ban Khat use in the military, give everyone skills like carpentry, welding, framing, electrical, any trade and any skill beside pulling a trigger.

60~ million USD could fund $300/month for 20,000 soldiers.
I'm sure the revenue for the past year was a couple hundred million.
Get rid of the useless 3k/m nepotism hires and make defense our main priority.

The little respect I had I had for him is gone. He's an embarrassment to wadanka . He gets paid millions a year to basically give speeches while he expects soldiers to die for nothing. The only reason he was elected was to ensure that soldiers get paid. He's backtracked on every campaign promise he made.
