f*ck Somalis. Why can't every clan stay in their own region. POST 91 we had a civil war along clan lines not colonial lines. Colonial borders isn't a solution. Even the most 'reer miyi' person will tell you stay in your land, this isn't a foreign idealogy, but in the local psyche. Federalism isn't a foreign concept, it's a Somali system with clan characteristics not colonial characteristics. Either that or some people simply don't want the civil war to end. War dhulkina ku eekada me ceeb bay keentay? ma dibada bay naga timi? no, it's a somali system with somali character.

The truth is HSM and most politicians in Mogadishu are deliberately ignoring the SSC issue because they do not want another Darood federal region within Somalia, even though it’s definitely within Somalia’s long term interests to create this region as it would destroy or further cripple successionism. They want the SSC movement to either collapse or SL to neutralize it completely. They are not ignorant, they are closely watching what’s happening up north and all the war crimes being committed against them but they are hoping that the movement dies down.

Khatumo will be an example to the North to bring down this secessionist Hargeisa with Awdal state to follow and Garhajis-Land. Khatumo is a great opportunity for all Somalia.

No it isn’t. Khaatumo has terrible consequences for other states as ‘marginalised clans’ will feel they can create their own state.

SL Somalia also will reach a deal. There’s no need to break up SL.

SL has not been a state that respects Somalia as its trying to break away from the nation for long while now. Khaatumo/SSC has been a thing since the mid to late 2000s and has been stopped by state parties to lack of clan cohesiveness. Now is the time to make amends and create this as it is clearly been shown by the world that Harti clans like Dhulbahante and the Warsangeli have had no stake in the region on top of the fact that SL is clearly dominated by all of Isaaq. for 30 years their has been this "talks" that lead to nothing. the FGS has been negligent of this issue for too long as its a defunct state. No other choice but to enact a state for the people of SSC.

Somalia didn’t exist for most of those 30 years. When the power imbalance between Somalia and Somaliland becomes significant, expect SL and Somalia talks to progress rapidly.

If this Garaad is relying on Somalinimo, I truly pity his people who he dragged into a war. Fake Somalinimo won't feed or shelter you. It got us Al-Shabaab and Ethiopian aerial bombardment. We shoved it where the sun doesn't shine. All we see are two Somali groups waging war, and we wish for peace.

I’m sure the states we currently have won’t want to share with new states or see states formed out of other states.

Kinda like how countries with separatist movements don’t support other countries separatists.

The SL-PL-GM-HS-KG-JL seems to be pretty much set in these days. 8 years without a new state.

Yeah, no state would want to agree to the establishment of a new FMS carved out of their territory. However, the constitution allows it and I don't see how anyone can stand in the way if the wish was expressed. It's not going to be easy, but it's not impossible either. With that said, if I was you, I wouldn't be so sure about the borders of SL if you're going by the one set by their colonial predecessor.
