Popular Saudi-Arab News news website reports with a weak source that some imams in Somalia..

Are preaching that Muslims are immune to covid-19. I don't know how true this is but their only source is an unnamed 'medical worker' in Somalia and have provided no source.

"Some imams in Somalia are saying Muslims are immune to COVID-19, going against senior Muslim scholars who have insisted the coronavirus pandemic is a severe threat to all people around the globe.

I don't see why they would make this weak report unless they have an agenda or purposely want to hurt the image of somalis. Alarabiya are one of the biggest news channels in the middle east and have a lot of viewers. I actually came across this on a popular reddit page that has hundreds of comments.

I was talking to my relatives back in Jamaame , they shocked me by suprise, kulaha Muslims are immune to Covid-19 and it only targets Gaalo, I tried not to react negatively or criticise them I questioned where they got that particular information , they said that they congregated last Friday's sermon and heard the Sheikh mentioning that specific topic . He also noted that this is a test from Allah for the non believers

Wlahi I was speechless , like how the f*ck are they taking this gaardheere serious .
Then I ringed my Ayeeyo in Jigjiga and asked about her condition , she was very knowledgeable about Covid-19 and said that Somalis are ignorant and stubborn people they still congregate at mosques and public spaces , she's afraid of going outside because of the virus , she praised the deployment of Ethio troops announcing strict curfew ,

Of course not. Not conclusive evidence anyways. But they're rumored to be descended from Jewish Arabs who would infiltrate by pretending to be Muslims. I'll have to verify this myself to be sure though.
