The recent attacks along with the increased terrorist attacks every election season begs the question. Is Somalias terrorism problem a homegrown issue that is stimulated and financed by political rivalries? I always suspected that Somalia moved from Warlods in 1991-2006, to terrorism 2007-20??

In the 70s Saudi Arabia spread the violent Wahabi sect الصحوة on the behest of America to rally Taliban against its superpower rival at that time the Soviet Union. They continued to spread Wahhabi interpretation to appose Egypt/Iraq Secular Arab Nationalist and Iran's Islamic Revolution.
Saudi Arabia prevailed exporting their Wahabi/Salafi teachings to most countries in the Islamic world to expand its influence but it backfired by Saddam's invasion of Kuwait.
Long story short, we are just a collateral causality of Saudi Salafi sect. That's why Islamist spread easily in Sudan, Egypt Yemen, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Pakistan etc they were all financed by Saudi Arabia.
MBS recently admitted that Saudi Arabia spread radical Wahabi Sect as request by US.
