Planning an African getaway? Mogadishu's THE HOTTEST spot you CAN'T miss!"

Man I hope the next president puts a stop to this. There seems to be a lot of Somalis who want somalia to become another one of those third rate tourist destinations. Tourism and igu sawir is not development.

It helps get rid of that wartorn Black Hawk Down image people conjure when they hear Somalia

I welcome anything that will boost the economy, increase productivity, and improve the country's image :nvjpqts:

I just hope they aren’t just serving baris and basto. There’s no point in having a nice restaurant and then serving basic food.

In countries like Kenya and Tanzania, tourists bring billions of USD to the local economies. There are over 2 million Somali diaspora. Nowadays, they travel to the neighboring countries rather than Somalia when they want to visit back home. This is money that could've gone to the local Somali economy.

Simply put, I disagree with you.

The issue is when the economy becomes fully dependant on tourism the state will dedicate itself to catering towards foreigners instead of locals. then the money is not going towards the local economy and benefiting it but rather its going back to try and extracting more profits from tourists and this is bad as well
