Places to visit/things to do in Hargeisa.

What are some places y’all recommend? Haven’t been there for close to 8 years, and I actually want to explore the place. I stayed at the same house for months, and that quickly got boring and me us dislike the country.

also, what are some things I should remember? I am going in the summer. Can I go out alone as a somali girl? Will taking an umbrella be a culture shock? ( half joking, half not. I can’t handle the heat. )

Jigjiga yar for night-life, damal hotel on thursdays, aden-19 for ice cream/shakes, al baik for fried chicken.
Day trips to sheikh/borama if you like nature, buy some honey from the towns near the mountains. Don’t go to miiy iyo magaalo (rip off) do your own picnics just past the masala area/salaxley road.


During the day, at night go out with cousins your family will look at you sideways if you’re going out alone at night.
