Sxb what do you have to lose, Sool was for the last 15-20 years under SL occupation and Sanaag has been a contested area between SL and PL, so if these two regions agree to form a unified administration what wouid PL lose in all of this? Now I understand the Sanaag leadership are divided and the federal government are instigating and creating instability in the region, of course we are against this part, but if there's a legitimate conference and Sool and Sanaag decide to join then I don't see any issues here.. Also if Deni is genuine why did he not call for a conference? Send and invite all stake holders? What is holding him back since the liberation of Sool?

the only shot at changing boundaries is constitutional amendment. this is not something president has power to do its power that is with parliament. to make change you need 2/3 of parliament or 44 mps to be in agreement this is very tough, since almost all the mp's pro puntland by design even dhulbhante ones. on top of that you would then need to conduct a referendum and let whole state vote on change. this shows you there is no way to secede its practically impossible. Deni doesn't have powers to cut up state. SSC taking only avenue open to it they got one shot everything lined up with current FGS. SSC knows constitution and Deni knows constitution this clash was inevitable and millions in aid and budget support on the line

He was elected to preserve the constitution of Puntland and he cannot possibly transgress beyond his limit.

Deni has done everything for dhulbahante so they can gain back their pride, dignity and self respect, he supported them orally, militarily and financially when HSM and his stooges were in cahoots with IOG who was arming Somaliland. He sent his generals and especially trained sharpshooters to participate in the fight killing more than 30+ high ranking military officials of SL. Dhulbahante should've been loyal to the only politician who lent them a hand, even Dhulbahante Garaads clearly stated that victory wouldn't have been possible without the support of Deni. Instead they backstabbed him, forged an alliance with the man who supported SL during the war, accepted his sham constitution, accepted his sham elections, approved his plans to invade and destroy JL, and NOW have transgressed against Warsangali, a loyal PL clan which has categorically refused to be part of their so called "conference".

SSC Khaatumo has chosen the wrong side, undoubtedly abandoning their brethren who liberated their land. They shall taste the sour reality of their actions.

Somalis generally don’t show gratitude so why expect it in the first place? Only gripe I have is that they’ve turned on us in such a fashion and are more than willing to undermine PL.

Trouble is political class in .So lacks foresight and fortitude. It shall formulate the relationship by forcing both sides to arrive at a political agreement not only to recalibrate, but rebalance the equilibrium, which has been tilted by agents of interest. Sure, the timing is bad for PL, with its being busy in Cal Miskat & Cal Madow and all, and in interim, it shall remove some arrows from SSC's quiver, but in the long-run, it shall set the right tone.

The question is: Is permanent peace possible with Isaaq? The answer is no.
Why? Because Isaaq insist on trying to rule Harti in their own land.

Puntland can easily make permanent peace with Dhulbahante, Warsangeli, Hawiye, FGS etc..
Puntland can never make permanent peace with Somaliland because its aims are fundamentally at odds with those of Puntland.
