Recognition could be granted, at this point half the country(the only stable parts) have disassociated from the capital. Meanwhile the federal government is busy fighting states using international aid money instead of fighting terrorists.

Not to mention the clear corruption going on in Somalia Baraawe being prime example. This might be the straw that broke the camels back.

Right so that little rant of mine yesterday got a little to emotional so I apologise for that, however I still think that Puntland independence or any state independence is a really stupid idea after decades of all parties around the world trying to fix Somalia.

1. To recognise Somaliland's independence and stop deluding yourselves by thinking the union of Somaliland and Somalia did not end in 1991
2. Abolish the 5 clannish maamuls including so called "Puntland" enclave and replace the tribal confederalism we see (aka virtual balkanisation) with a situation whereby Somalia the ex Italian colony is divided into 13 regions and has an all powerful central government led by HAG and based in your eternal capital Mogadishu
