What I hate about the justice system is you never know the truth. Neither acquittals or convictions guarantee, respectively, whether someone is innocent or guilty. This particular situation is even worse because there wasn't a proper verdict; why do a tiny minority in the jury have the authority to sway the final decision btw?? Mistrial seems like a huge cop out to evade public backlash or something. Adds more uncertainty to the justice system.
If Cosby is indeed guilty: that means all those women got screwed over -no pun intended- by the mistrial, he essentially got away with using his celebrity to exploit others, and current/future victims of s-xual assault will feel too discouraged to come forward.
If Cosby is actually innocent: then his name/reputation has unfairly been dragged through the mud all this time and he still has to live with the mainstream perception that he is guilty. Due to the inconclusive nature of the mistrial, he can never say he was 'found' innocent. He dodged a bullet on the jail time though.
