Samaalic Era

For me, it is the first assassins creed. The dialogue was by far top tier and the best interactions were between Al Mualim and Altair.

I bought the first one when it came out it was refreshing and different. i beat the game but never bought anthor one because of having tight schedule but I heard this game connects with history I don't know because I never followed on it

The characters except the MC,the events such as the Battle of Arsuf and the POW massacre and geography are real as well as Jerusalem being under Salahuddin in 1191 are correct.

What I enjoy about this game is the thin line between the assassins and the templars in terms of their objective and how the MC is affected by each mission and confession

Red Dead Redemption is another example. The MC is trying to redeem himself after a life of crime, and also finds out that his way of life (the typical old western way of living) is being replaced as America becomes more modern. The game does a great job of showing his internal struggles in trying to raise a family and be a good father, trying to atone for his sins and also coming to terms that his way of life is over.

But the best example IMO is the Elder Scrolls series. The series just dumps you into an alien world whose anthropology is laden with unique theology, epistemology, ethics, religion, metaphysics, aesthetics, theodicy, notions of self and self-actualization/enlightenment, virtue, mysticism, relationship between the self and divine, modes of attainment of knowledge, politics, duty/freedom/slavery, etc. etc. etc. Most of this is contained in the in-game literature and presented through a variety of fictional perspectives that vary wildly. I HIGHLY recommend playing the 3 latest installments (Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim).
